WCIT 2008

16th World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) will be held from 18th to 22nd May 2008 at KLCC. It is proud that Malaysia is chosen as the host country to organize an international event a.k.a Olympic of ICT this year. Many formidable leaders and dark horses in IT industry like Bill Gates and Craig Barrett will deliver their keynotes in this event. I had seen Bill Gates in Microsoft Innovation Day back in year 2004 at PICC. He talked about Longhorn (codename for Windows Vista) back then. I think this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to listen to him again in Malaysia before he steps down from the IT world.

As an IT person, I really hope that I can participate in this event. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to play a role as a partner, delegate or exhibitor. The only way to involve is to join the volunteer program. Two main requirements for a volunteer are to be available from 14th to 24th May and to attend the training which is compulsory in April. Sadly, I am not able to squeeze out so many days of annual leave. The registration will end tomorrow and I am watching it to slip away, hopelessly.

That is really long. One week has to be forfeited. Why not you take a leave on that day which B.G is here?
