India: Butterball and Arjuna's Penance
I don't know what this place is called. The attraction on this granite landscape is no other thing than this gigantic rock. The tour guide told us that nobody is able to move it yet. I have no idea why it's called as Butterball. In fact, it doesn't melt under the hot blazing sun.
It's so huge that the tourists can rest under the shade. From my observation, many tourists liked to take a picture with Hercules pose. They could hoist the heavy ball by just using the great strength of their two bare hands.
Arjuna's Penance and Butterball are located near to each other which can be reached by foot. Arjuna's Penance is a bas-relief monolith. This is another place with lots of rock cuts. I didn't feel excited to go to this place, maybe I had seen enough of rocks in that small town.
Besides gods and goddesses, there are elephants too. There must be a story behind all these carvings. There's a fence in front of this bas relief and the area between the fence and bas relief was filled with water after the rain. We could only see from a short distance.
