Summer and French Music Festival

In Malaysia, the climate is hot and humid throughout the year, so we don't give a hype about summer. In countries that undergo four seasons, it's time when people get excited and off to the beach with their sun block lotions. In France, the French folks celebrate the first day of summer with Fête de la Musique as June 21 is said to be the longest day of the year. Musicians will perform at open public area and music lovers enjoy free music.

This event originated from France is now spread to many countries, including Malaysia. My friends and I went to Bukit Bintang to join the fun a few years ago. Many stages were set up and they even sang some French songs. This year, the event was held at Alliances Françaises and HELP University College.


Since it's Saturday, I went there to take a look and enjoyed some musics. The event had become very small scale. Only one small stage was set up and the audience crowd was extremely small. But the free flow of music was still carrying on.


Night approached and the music genre is pop, rock and alternative. This is Skudap Skudip. Their music was quite syiok with the trumpet. There's one song made me think of Katamari, I don't know why.


This is Fourletterstory. I have been listening to their song, "Tomorrow Starts Today" after the event. I like. Oops, the video is quite dark due to the low light.


Bluetankers. Khaidir was there to support his drummer friend in the band. The vocals might not be so good but they played the music really well.
