This is what I've got for the 10 Rules in the Ladies found in India. I think some of them are funny and there are such rules due to different culture and practice. For example, Rule #2, Indian ladies have super long and curly hair but I have seen them combing their hair in the restroom quite often too.
I love Malaysia. P/s: 2007 is quite a sucky year for me. I hope for a better one in 2008. Happy new year everyone!
I was injected with Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccinations 2 weeks ago. After applying for VISA, booking of flight ticket, hotel room and going through some procedures, I'm now in Chennai, India already. My colleages and I took off from KLIA at 8.05 pm local time and reached Chennai at 9.15 pm India time. The flight took around 3 hrs 40 mins.
The flight journey was quite boring, I should have just grab one newspaper while boarding. The night view of Putrajaya and KL city was spectacular. There's nothing I could do in the plane except putting on the earphone and listening to the channel. We're served with Indian food and these were the food tasted unfamiliar to me. Coriander Mint Chutney
and this orange cake with super sweet taste. I was not used to the taste and definitely couldn't finish it.
Doze off because it was a night flight.
Upon arrival, this was the long way that led us to our luggage.
One of the decorations in the airport.
The ladies was not so clean and there were only 2 cubicles.
This was the checkpoint that we got through. Look at the buttons and meter(if you notice) above it. They reminded me of the apparatus that we used while doing experiments in Physics class back in high school time. One lady approached me and said that camera was prohibited there. The hotel pick-up people were already there waiting for us. This kind of queue was very long and I think it's the arrival hall pathway in the airport. We were then taken back to the hotel in a 45-minute ride.
Will post some pictures of the hotel soon. Stay tuned!
P/s: The Muslims here celebrated Bakrid Day yesterday. We went to Mahabalipuram for a one day tour.
I didn't make it to My Chemical Romance Concert although I really wanted to join other 18k MCR fans and singing "We'll carry on.. We'll carry on.." together. These tickets belonged to my housemate. Check out Raven's blog and his Flickr page for really great MCR photos.
On the same day itself, I tagged along YokeYin for a charity fair at SJK (C) Yoke Nam, OUG. Th objective of this event was to raise funds for new Tham Wan Wah building. Let the pictures do the talking.
I was parked in a booth selling package goods basically biscuits. This cute girl was my partner. She was unable to speak clearly, so she was very quiet and became frustrated when I asked her questions. Hope that she would be more confident in future.
YokeYin and ChongLeong who were on Ushering team later joined the fun at my booth. Good to have them.
There were a lot of booths selling many things and activities running on throughout the event. This was the dragon drifting past the booths. There was a lion dance as well.
Aunties, you are very cute with the baloon hat!
One of the food sold there.
Ai Xin Mian Bao. Hey guys, no need feel shy.
Uncle looks high while selling kuih.
Singing performance.
Backstage practicing.
Aunty with art works.
Emcee of the day. I guessed you have seen him before in TV2 Mandrin News.
The event ended at 3pm and I got some of free food from those goods which was not sold out in the end. Hopefully this charity food fair is fruitful and they manage to raise sufficient funds for the new building.
P/s: Has WGA Strike ended? Can't wait for Heroes Volume 3: Villains.
I participated in HP Celebrating Life With Technology Contest some time ago. The force luck was with me and I am proud to be one of the Third Runners-Up. I went to PMG Asia located at Menara Amcorp to collect my prize. I carried it all the way from my company back to my home. That's tiring! This was me posing with my printer at Kl Sentral.
The prize consists of HP Deskjet F4185, Sony Cyber-shot T200, leather case with stylus and a genuine 1Gb Memory Stick Pro Duo. Syok!
I feel relieved that I get a black one instead of other colors especially red. Introducing my brand new slim and stylist T200.
So this is the HP Deskjet F4185 All-in-One printer, scanner and copier.
It has a very cool control panel. To perform a job, I can use the software installed in my computer or by pressing these buttons.
After 15 steps of setting up, it's done and I could start trying it out. Unfortunately, the software language was set to Chinese by default and I didn't know how to change it to English. It gave me problem later on. I hit an error when I tried to scan and save the file to a folder. The error message appeared in Chinese and the customer support were only available in English and Malay only. It's in vain to call them as they were not able to understand and identify the problem after I tried to translate the error message. Later on, I received an email with links to the documentation about problem and solution. The customer support was very poor, I could say. So be it since I seldom use the scanning functionality.
My main concern is photo printing. Photosmart Essentials is the software tools that handles photo editing and printing. The pictures turned out to be very good although they were not nicely fitted on the papers. In fact, I need to pick up some knowledge about photo size and using the software.
I am thankful to ZaaiYuen for telling me about this contest, everyone voting for me and HP for giving me all these.
